Providing students the opportunity to learn in dialogue groups - (Session 4 of 7)

The focus of this session is organizing a course so that students spend a significant amount of contact time in dialogue groups. The session starts with a discussion of the role of dialogue groups and of the amount of time to devote to learning in dialogue groups. The rest of the session deals with the size of dialogue groups; grouping students to enhance interaction while being aware of power dynamics; developing a sequence of dialogue topics that help students deepen their understanding of course content; working with peer facilitators; and the basics of developing dialogue plans.
