SERIES: Noontime Knowledge: Retention: Promising and Practical Solutions

As faculty, we may view building relationships with our students as separate from and unrelated to teaching, but the two are connected in that if students feel they belong, there is a greater chance of class contribution, engagement, meaningful learning, and motivation. In this interactive session, we will explore the impact of relationship building through evidence from the literature, and quick, easy to implement strategies. The objectives of this session are to 1. Identify techniques to build peer-to-peer relationships, and 2. Identify techniques to build instructor-student relationships. #studentengagement #studentsuccess #persistence #retention #buildingcommunity
