Supporting the Under-Resourced Students

This group will gather at CETL to share and discuss the challenges faced by under-resourced students. Useful discussion frames and resources relating to under-resourced populations will be provided. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, attainment of a bachelor's degree among students of low socioeconomic (SES) status is approximately half that for middle status students, and less than a quarter of the high SES rate. Coming together to discuss and attempt to address the challenges faced by under-resourced learners has never been more important. Objectives: Participants will discover colleagues with a shared interest in understanding the challenges which face under-resourced learners; explore ways to appropriately support learners; and develop strategies to improve outcomes

Light Refreshments will be provided
