X Marks the Spot!: Assessing Cumulative Learning through a Group Process Map

Tuesday, October 9, 2018 :: 11:00-12:00 PM

Park Library | 413

Intended Audience: CMU Faculty

Facilitated by: Kristina Rouech, Betsy VanDeusen, Katie Reck

As faculty in academia, our quest is to help students engage in learning. The Group Process Map is a way to gauge students' knowledge at any point in a course. A Group Process Map builds on the ideas of a concept map by requiring students to illustrate a meaningful image that connects the ideas and concepts learned in class to each other as well as the objectives of the course. The presenters will outline how Group Processing Maps can be adapted, share images of maps created by students, and provide tips for implementing this activity in future instruction.

Snacks will be provided
